The University Grants Commission, UGC, today clarified that it has not issued any new guidance on the conduct of university examinations. The UGC issued a Clarification Notice which reads, “clarification of incorrect news in the media regarding UGC’s guidelines on the exam.
According to the official notice from the University Grants Commission published today, May 11, 2021, “We have been informed that incorrect information regarding UGC guidelines for examinations has been published in certain print and digital media. occasionally over the past year.”
In addition, the UGC notice reads: “UGC-wide letter dated May 6, 2021 asking universities to suspend offline exams for the month of May 2021.”

The UGC notice clarified that “Given the news circulating in print and digital media, it is clarified that the UGC has not recently issued any review guidelines and that the news is incorrect.”

Earlier, the University Grants Commission issued a notice asking all higher education institutions to stay offline while I avoid physical gatherings on campuses and also provide much-needed relief to students, faculty and staff, as the health and safety of everyone is of the utmost importance to them.
