Osmania University exam postponed due to COVID spike, new dates will be released soon

Osmania University Exams 2022: Osmania University, as part of a recent move, has postponed the University Exams. This was done in view of the increase in COVID cases and also the fear of Omicron. The University informed of the decision to postpone the exams through a notice. The notice that was published on January 6 indicates that all exams that were scheduled to take place between January 8 and January 16 are postponed. The exams cover different courses and subjects. The University has just announced that the exams have been postponed. New or revised dates have yet to be announced. It will be published by the University later. Therefore, applicants are also advised to keep an eye on the official website for updates.

The decision also took into consideration that the government of Telangana announced a vacation for all educational institutions from January 8 to 16, 2022. Following this decision, Osmania University also decided to close its hostels to avoid any possible transmission of COVID-19. According to local media, the University also mentioned that its infrastructure would not be able to cope with a situation, should a crisis arise due to COVID and/or Omicron. He even took into consideration that if students live in hostels, they are bound to stay close and also share things. All of these measures can increase the risk of infection.

Note that all schools and colleges in Telangana have been closed in the state. This was announced after CM Rao held a COVID review meeting on January 3, 2022. Due to a spike in cases, it was decided to make this holiday coincide with Sankranthi and students were asked to stay at inside for everyone’s safety.
